Urban Boatbuilders is a youth service
agency that uses wooden boatbuilding as a
means to support positive youth
development, academic achievement, and the
development of a variety of hard and soft
skills that help young people find and
keep jobs. We work with young people in
schools, after school, and in
correctional settings.
Wednesday
Night Open Shop On Wednesdays nights
volunteers help prepare material and
parts for building projects. Our
volunteers learn the fine points of
traditional wooden boat construction
while helping make our youth building
projects possible.
