| Our hard-working apprentices, Mario, Cassie,
Chris, Tyrone, Brian, Moises, Lee, Jordan, Toua, and Kou invite
you to join them either in person or through your
financial support as they paddle and row 80 miles
down the Mississippi River. They have
acquired persistence, craftsmanship, teamwork,
and self-confidence while learning how to build
boats and now are eager to learn how to handle
and use those boats. Urban Boatbuilder's
Mississippi Passage is a way for them to
accomplish that in the context of an affirming
community of fellow passage-makers. You can
express your support for these ambitious young
men either by joining them on the river and
raising pledges from your own supporters or by
making a financial pledge on behalf of the
apprentices. All proceeds will be used by
Urban Boatbuilders to provide boat building and
associated character and skill development
opportunities to a greater number of inner city
youth.
The trip will take four days and consist of
four legs. You can participate in all four
of them, join us for just one to three of them,
or simply make a financial pledge.
