Apply to be a Summer Apprentice!

Urban Boatbuilders' Apprenticeship Program employs those ages 16-21 to build boats, cutting boards, develop career building skills, and gain exposure to the trades. Pay starts at $15/hour with opportunity for pay increases as apprentices advance through the cohorts. We are located at the Urban Boatbuilders' Woodshop, right off the Green Line on Raymond. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, May 24th, 11:59PM

WHO:

Youth ages 16-21 who are curious about the trades and/or enjoy working with their hands. Note: Age exceptions are considered, depending on circumstances.

 

PAY:

$15/hour with opportunity for pay increases as apprentices advance through the cohorts.

WHEN:

Monday, June 15th- Wednesday, August 12th

​

CREW HOURS:

3 hours per day, 4 days per week

Crew A works from 9-12 am Monday through Thursday. 

Crew B works from 1-4 pm Monday through Thursday.

OVERNIGHT TRIP:

Our summer cohort includes a paid canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota! The trip is optional but is highly recommended because it provides excellent experiences and tons of fun!
