Azalea Hallin-Graber

Offsite Instructor

Azalea (they/she) brings a passion for teaching, craft, play and creative expression through making to the Urban Boatbuilders team. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Ecological Design/Landscape Architecture, they travelled abroad to a folk school program in Norway. At this program, they immersed themselves in traditional wood Norwegian boat building and fell in love with craft, community and the value of play. They grew up in the Twin Cities and have a deep passion for the power and joy around teaching people how to use tools and make things.

Outside of Urban Boatbuilders, Azalea loves to learn many a new thing! Whether it is playing banjo, quilting, dancing, skin tanning, gardening, or canoeing, Azalea loves to stay busy and connect with the community through new hobbies.
